Mouse Animal Production Service (MAPS)

The CMMT MAPS offers a variety of services.

List of MAPS Services (August 2011)

  1. ESC microinjection into blastocysts – chimeras

    • C57BL6/J host

  2. Embryonic Stem Cell culture

  3. Derivation of new ESC lines

  4. Provide germline competent ESCs

  5. Generate Mouse Embryonic Fibroblasts (MEFs)

    • Currently available: DR4, B6129 WT, Hprt null, FVB

    • P1 vials or expanded Mitomycin-C vials (P4)

  6. C57BL/6J, ICR/Ems, and 129S1/SvImJ mice

    • Timed pregnancies

    • Age specific mice or embryos

    • ICR foster mothers

  7. Pseudo pregnant recipients (ICR)

  8. Surgical Services

    • Surgical implantation of embryos into pseudo pregnant females

    • Vasectomized males

  9. Cryopreservation of sperm or embryos

  10. In-vitro Fertilization

    • Generation of experimental animals

    • Reconstitution of cryopreserved sperm

    • Strain recovery from unproductive breeding pairs
